9. Nick Brandt
British nature photographer Nick Brandt focuses primarily on African subjects. In 2001, he began a huge project which would involve three books that document endangered species in East Africa.
Brandt uses black and white film for all his work, and never uses a telephoto lens, believing it separates him from his subjects. Brandt does not photoshop his scenes or enhance them in anyway, and his largest prints can sell for $200,000 each.
For the past 16 years, he has continued to document changing landscapes and the natural world in East Africa, publishing four books of his work, making him well on his way to being one of the highest paid photographers in the world.
