7. GMB Akash
Bangladeshi photographer GMB Akash has had his work published in 90 major media sources, including Vogue, National Geographic and The Sunday Times, and was Travel Photographer of the Year in 2009.
Akash’s work primarily focuses on beautiful, unusual and sometimes dark places around the world, his subjects are normal people in natural settings. Akash believes it’s his duty to photograph parts of humanity that many don’t see, and is “determined to give a voice to the voiceless and have it heard around the world”.
His latest book, Survivors, features 10 years’ of compiled photographs depicting people surviving in adverse environments and situations.
