8. Stephanie Tamez ($200 per hour)
Stephanie Tamez started it all as a graphic designer. Then she fell in love with another kind of graphic designing: the typography tattoos.
She started it all in a private studio called Diamond Club, San Francisco. Then she finally found her way to work at one of the leading tattoo parlors in New York City, Adorned. In 2012, after about nine years working there, she moved on to become the co-owner of Saved Tattoo. This tattoo parlor was founded by Scott Campbell, whom you will see later on this list.
Stephanie charges $200 per every hour of tattoo consultation. It may be a little pricey. But with her graphic design background, your tattoo will be worth every dime.
While she is not tattooing, she spends some of her time teaching tattoo design at the School of Visual Arts (SVA), New York. And she takes this job seriously. Tattooing is not just a matter of art to her, but also the history behind it.
