Currently, Dallol holds the official record for ‘high average temperature for an inhabited location’ on Earth.

An average annual temperature of 96 degrees Fahrenheit (or 35 degrees Celsius) was recorded between 1960 and 1966.

In Dallol, the annual average high temperature is 105 degrees Fahrenheit ( equivalent to 41 degrees Celsius), but the hottest month of the year has an average high of 115.6 degrees Fahrenheit (or 46.4 degrees Celsius).

Dallol is one of the most remote places on the planet, and despite his desert climate, it features very high levels of relative humidity, always over 60%.

As the unbearable temperatures weren’t enough, the humidity makes it even worse.
