3. Coca-Cola Had to Recall an Advertisement Due its Obscenity
Coca-Cola always had interesting ads and some of them were super creative. But they had one so good that had to be recalled.
Why? Because, just like in those Disney movies when you see hidden messages everywhere, Coke’s ad had one of those hidden messages.
Unlike Disney, Coke removed the ad from the market, due to its obscenity. The ad was a Coca-Cola poster released in South Australia during the mid-80s.
Was made in support of a campaign to promote the introduction of the original contoured Coke bottle and thousands of copies were distributed to every shop in Sydney.
Coke executives were really embarrassed due of the complaining about the obscene image in one of the ice cubes on the ad. The ad costs were estimated around $200,000.
