Iron Man Skull Watch Makes You Feel Like Tony Stark
You’ve seen the most expensive watches, right? And noticed how awesome they look and I’m sure you wanted to buy them all.
I think you should put one more watch on the wish list this year. This Skull Watch is everything you wanted.
HYT (Hydromechanical Horologists) created a new watch model for 2015. And I’m telling you it is worth it!
Having this watch at your wrist will surely boost your confidence and you’ll get a lot of compliments for it.
So, as I was saying, the HYT Company created quite a different watch compared to everything you’ve seen so far.
Their watch indicates no minutes and with the skull design, HYT created the first futuristic skull watch you ever seen. The dial of the watch indicated the hours, seconds, and has a power reserve indicator.
The Skull Watch was the company’s third creation and why do they chose to create it is the question we might never find the answer for, probably because it looks just incredibly cool.
The skull-themed watches are becoming more and more popular among the watch brands such as Hublot or Richard Mille.
To create this watch special for you, the HYT had to create a skull outline using their exclusive technology- the liquid hour indication “capillary” system.
The liquid tube frames the skull on the dial which is quite different than the fully round ones you see everywhere.
HYT said that the delicate bending of the thin glass tube was a particular engineering challenge but somehow they managed to fulfill the task with success.
But wait, there is more. The HYT Skull watch will be offered in two awesome versions.
One of them will be in DLC black titanium with green liquid, and the other will be in 18k rose gold with DLC black titanium and it will feature red colored liquid.
Their names aren’t hard to crack. One is called the Skull Green Eye and the other Skull Red Eye, with the attachment of the company’s name, of course.
It is known the fact that timepieces from HYT have never known to follow the rules. The same principle applies in the making of these extreme, technically spectacular watches.
Unlike other watches you are familiar with, this skull watch covers up the majority of the inner workings, with only the pistons visible through the translucent back.
The eyes of the skull are indicators. How? The left eye indicated the running seconds, while the right eye is a power reserve indicator for the manually wound mechanical movement.
Using a series of subtly different translucent colored inserts, the eye gradually darkens as the piece nears the end of its 65 hours of power.
Now, let’s talk about their design and how you are going to love them!
To give a cleaner design, the crown protection has been removed. Lateral inserts have also been added to the case, allowing multiple future combinations.
A true Alpha-male is the one that sets the time in any room he’s in, that might come handy since the watch doesn’t show minutes.
He is fully aware of everything and uses everything he has to his advantage.
Inside the watch are exclusive and very expensive HYT movements. The rear of the case is viewable through a sapphire crystal window, offering a nice look into the movement.
As they are saying on their website (hytwatches.com): “Orchestrated by Brino Moutarlier, alongside Jean-François Mojon and his Chronode SA team, a mechanical movement is situated in the upper part of the watch, and propels a cam, which pushes the piston and activates the bellows.”
We both know it would look great on you, but make sure you buy one in time, because the watch comes in limited edition.
The Green Eye watch is limited to 50 pieces while the Red Eye in 18k rose gold and titanium is limited to just 25 pieces.
So far nothing has come up about the price of the watches, but we are excited to find out! The Iron Man inspired Skull Watch could be priced somewhere between $30,000 and $50,000, reaching towards a premium demographic.
With all that being said, the size of the watch should be as important as the design, right? Well, it is. The full size of the Skull watch is imposing, measuring up at 51mm. Although the watch seems big it is comfortable, even for small wrists.
The nice, matching green or red tinted sapphire crystal, touch adds a note of elegance to the overall presentation of the watch.
Which is why, the HYT Skull Watch is the perfect accessory for you. It’s like a must have in 2015.
These watches inspired from the Marvel’s Iron Man movies will make you feel like Tony Stark itself (well, minus the Iron Man suit).
Until the watch will be officially launched (19-23 January at Geneva), here is a clip:
