5. The lawsuits
I’m sure there is a reason why Ivanka make friends with mostly rich people. Perhaps those who are far less rich only befriend her for her money. And others who don’t, would still try to extort money out of her through lawsuits.
Through her career as an entrepreneur, Ivanka has been sued. A lot.
Apparently, problems with taxes run in the family. Ivanka was reported to owe around $5,000 in a form of unpaid sales taxes. New York’s Department of Taxation and Finance has filed a warrant against Madison Avenue Diamonds LLC, where Ivanka does her jewelry business.
When you design things, one of the most common lawsuits you will face is copyright. And Ivanka is dealing with this problem as well. Aquazzura, an Italian footwear company, is suing her for copying a pair of its shoes.
The company is chasing her down publicly. They posted the picture of the shoes on Instagram with a caption: “One of the most disturbing things in the fashion industry is when someone blatantly steals your copyright designs and doesn’t care. You should know better. Shame on you @ivankatrump! Imitation is NOT the most sincere form of flattery.”
