Little Jennifer Lopez showed her interest in dancing and singing since she was just five years old. So, her parents sent her to take lessons. And her talents and skills kept improving.

When she was a senior in high school, she found out about a film casting nearby. Connie Kaiserman was looking for some teenage girls for small roles in the low-budget movie, 1986 My Little Girl. J-Lo got one of the roles. And that’s when she realized that she also wanted to be a movie star.

However, the competition was tough. She didn’t get any breakthrough in both dancing and acting until about ten years after.

She worked for New Kids on the Block and Janet Jackson as a backup dancer before she finally got her first regular job as a dancer on TV program called In Living Color. Then, her breakthrough on big screen came as she starred the 1997 Selena.
