3. Fur Protest
J-Lo’s diversity of talent doesn’t stop in acting, singing, and dancing. She has broadened her business into fashion industry through her own clothing line, Sweetface, and her exclusive fragrances, Still.
On its debut year, Sweetface and Still generated over $300 million of revenue. And thanks to that, J-Lo became the world’s 19th richest person under forty years old.
However, that revenue came with a baggage. She received critics and protests about her fashion line because of its excessive use of fur. And world organization, PETA, even had their hands on this matter.
Back in 2005, a famous PETA member, Heather Mills, stormed into J-Lo’s New York office along with some reporters. They were demanding her explanation about this fur thing. But she wasn’t there. So, Mills left her a DVD which shows the fur-making brutality towards animals. There was no confirmation or clarification from J-Lo on this matter. And Sweetface still offers fur product in its collection.
