Now that you know a bit more about JK Rowling’s background story, let’s figure out what it is that made her so successful. Is it luck of finding a publisher? Is it talent which she has nurtured since she was little? Or is it the hard work she put in through her struggles?
It’s a little bit of all of them combined with the power of her mind. Her mind created this wonderful fantasy world where we can escape through our imagination. And she did not just create one single world through one single book. But she created the whole wizardly universe.
Imagine if she had only written one Harry Potter book. Just one story of Harry going to Hogwarts, finding the sorcerer’s stone, fighting Professor Quirrell. But instead of chasing Voldemort for another six books, he defeated him right there. Believe me, the franchise would not have been as huge as it is today.
And get this: the book was published twenty years ago! And yet, Rowling is still collecting more and more royalties. There wouldn’t be Quidditch, Pottermore, and Fantastic Beasts without this amazing wizardly world she created in the first place.
