Luxury Camping Destinations | Top 10

The most luxurious camping stay on our 2026 list is Treehotel in Harads, northern Sweden, where listed rates run at roughly EUR 670 to 690 a night. Luxury camping, or glamping, now ranges from heated yurts on a Swiss summit to butler-serviced safari tents in Montana and Kenya. We rechecked every stay from the old version, removed the ones that no longer check out, and ranked the eight that remain by how much they cost and how remote and fully serviced they are. Prices are the latest we could find and change by date.

Rank Stay Where Price signal (2026)
1 Treehotel Harads, Sweden About EUR 670 to 690 per night in listings
2 Governors’ Camp Masai Mara, Kenya From about US$450 per person per night
3 Under Canvas Yellowstone Montana, USA From US$296 (North) or US$379 (West) per night
4 Resort at Paws Up glamping Montana, USA Rates on request
5 Gondwana Kwena Lodge Western Cape, South Africa Rates on request
6 Pop-Up Hotel Event sites in Europe Rates on request
7 Garden Village Bled Lake Bled, Slovenia Older listings from about EUR 230 to 250
8 Love Yurt, Rochers-de-Naye Montreux, Switzerland Package price on request

8. Love Yurt, Rochers-de-Naye, Montreux, Switzerland

Rochers-de-Naye is a summit at 2,042 metres above Lake Geneva, reached by a cog railway from Montreux. The yurts at the top are sold as an overnight package for couples that bundles the train ride, dinner, breakfast and a mini champagne, and the stay runs Thursday to Saturday according to the listing we found.

We could not find a 2026 price for the yurt package, but the Montreux to Rochers-de-Naye train ticket alone is listed from CHF 36.40. Ask GoldenPass for the current package price.

7. Garden Village Bled, Lake Bled, Slovenia

Garden Village is an eco-focused resort near Lake Bled with pier tents built over a stream, glamping tents with private hot tubs and treehouses. The pier tents are the simplest option, with beds and electricity, and guests can fish from the deck. Riverside pier tents and tree tents share toilets and showers, so this is the budget entry on our list.

The resort is reported to open from April to the end of October. An older listing gave about EUR 230 for a treehouse and EUR 250 and up for a glamping tent, but we did not find 2026 rates.

6. Pop-Up Hotel, European event sites

Our old number 1 was the Pop-Up Hotel’s Tenthouse suite in the UK. We could not find the Tenthouse on the company’s current site. What we did confirm is that the Pop-Up Hotel is still trading and runs temporary luxury hotels at Glastonbury, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, the Italian Grand Prix at Monza and the Ryder Cup in Adare, and is now taking reservations for Glastonbury 2027.

The company does not publish prices on its home page. Treat it as luxury camping that follows the calendar rather than a place.

5. Kwena Lodge, Gondwana Game Reserve, South Africa

Gondwana Game Reserve, in the Western Cape, still operates. The old list featured a “Kwena Hut”, but the reserve’s current site lists Kwena Lodge instead: suites and villas overlooking a waterhole with mountains on the horizon, reserved for guests aged 12 and over.

Rates are not published online. Book through the reserve’s reservations team.

4. Glamping at The Resort at Paws Up, Montana, USA

Paws Up in Montana still sells glamping in safari-style luxury tents with king beds, ensuite bathrooms, a dedicated chef and a camp butler. The old list called the setting Cliffside Camp, but we could not find that name on the resort’s current accommodation page, so we describe the glamping product as it is sold today.

Rates are not on the page and depend on the season. Call the resort or check its seasons page.

3. Under Canvas Yellowstone, Montana, USA

Under Canvas runs two Yellowstone camps. The 2026 fact sheets list a starting rate of US$296 a night at North Yellowstone (Paradise Valley), open May 7 to October 1, 2026, and US$379 a night at West Yellowstone, open May 20 to September 8, 2026. Breakfast is extra at West Yellowstone, from US$10 to US$25.

Both 2026 seasons have now closed, so plan for 2027. Suites and larger tents cost more than the starting rates.

2. Governors’ Camp, Masai Mara, Kenya

Our old number 4 was the “Mara Explorer Camp”, but the only property under that name we found is a backpacker camp, so we replaced it with Governors’ Camp, a long-established tented camp in the Masai Mara.

Agents list rates from about US$450 per person per night sharing, and one agent shows US$453 to US$998 depending on the month. A three-night package with flights from another agent reaches about US$3,305 per person in July to October. Check what is included before you compare.

1. Treehotel, Harads, Sweden

Treehotel is a group of design cabins in the pine forest of Swedish Lapland, including the Mirror Cube, the Bird’s Nest and the UFO. Booking sites show breakfast included.

Listings put a one-night stay for two at about EUR 687 on a date in mid-October 2026, with other dates between roughly EUR 669 and EUR 690. It is a hotel in trees rather than a tent, but it keeps its place for pairing an off-grid setting with design-led comfort.

Gone or unconfirmed: removed from the list

Simply Canvas safari tents in Bonac, France: the old company website now redirects to an unrelated site, so we dropped it.

Luxury Airstream trailer rental in Chino, California: we could not confirm that the company still operates.

Mara Explorer Camp, Kenya: only a backpacker camp matched, so it was replaced by Governors’ Camp.

Tenthouse Suite, Pop-Up Hotel, UK: replaced by the Pop-Up Hotel’s current event hotels.

How we put this list together

We rebuilt this list from places whose operators or booking pages we could open in October 2026. Each stay is ranked by price level, remoteness and level of service. Where a price is only available from an agent or aggregator, we say so.
