I can tell you that not only blue and green eyes can stand out. Every eye color has its advantages and I know exactly what make-up you need for any of them.
Blue Eyes
The basic rule is that blue is a cool tone, so you should use warm eye shadows. Having a beautiful, light color, you should avoid using too much color on the lid, as it will distract from the beauty of the blue eyes.
Best eye shadows: gold, bronze, copper, taupe, gray, violet, purple, champagne, yellow-beige, peach.
You can dare to try something different too, like a “browny orange”, but you should avoid blue shades that are similar to your eyes and don’t ever go for aqua or cerulean shades.
Brown Eyes
If you have brown eyes you are the luckyest of them all. Brown is a neutral color, so you have widest range of options.
Best eye shadows: bronze, peach, pink, lavender, plum, navy, teal, green.
If you want a natural look, try using warm bronze and peach pigments, but if you are looking for something more special use purple shades that contrast your color, making eyes look dramatic, like in the picture above. Also, soft pink is another good color for a romantic look.
Green Eyes
If you have green eyes, you want a color that reads neutral from a distance, but still brightens the iris. All women with green eyes look great in brown colors from light beiges to deep chocolate browns. They say you should totally avoid green, but i think that you can use it as long as it is darker or lighter that your green tone. Check out the picture bellow:
Best eye shadows: brown, rust, purple, pink.
For an intense look try purple or deep plum, it will look ultra-dramatic and will make the green even more beutiful.
Hazel Eyes
The range of tones you can use are somewhere between green and brown. For a natural look you can go with golds and grays and if you want them to look like they are a more lighter brown use yellowy-browns and grays. You are lucky, these are colors that dont’s suit other eye colors.
Best eye shadows: gray, dusty pink, burgundy, deep purple, yellow-brown.
