2. Built within the Renault-Nissan Alliance
We mentioned earlier on this article that the Mercedes-Benz X-Class will be built and imported from Barcelona, Spain. And now we are going to reveal the reason why.
Mercedes has made a collaborative deal with Renault and Nissan, as the two manufacturers had formed the alliance for quite some time. And as a part of the deal, these three manufacturers are sharing car parts and technological insights in building their own cars.
Thus, the new Mercedes-Benz X-Class will be manufactured on the same platform as the Renault Alaskan and Nissan NP300.
Some people have concern about this. They think that this may result similar-parts different-bodies scenario. But to answer this concern, Mercedes promises that these three car models will be significantly different since they are coming from three different manufacturers anyway.
