6. Political stance
If you have been following the United States politic (no, not just about Trump and Hillary), you probably wonder about Michael Bloomberg’s political stance.
When he was just a billionaire businessman, he was known to be a member of the Democratic Party. But then, he jumped to the Republican side on his first mayoral run. This was purely a political move. He saw a better opportunity in winning the run through the Republican aisle.
So, it was pretty remarkable that he won the election as a Republican considering New York City is majority Democratic. But preceding-Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s endorsement was definitely a huge boost to his win.
However, Bloomberg left Republican Party because his social liberalism just never fit in. Did he rejoin Democratic Party? Nope. He chooses to become an independent. So, there you go, Bloomberg has walked through all three different aisles in terms of political stance.
