4. Versus Donald Trump
Had he actually jumped in instead of just testing the water on the last election, it would have been a great battle between the two business moguls on the last presidential election platform. Michael Bloomberg is far richer than Donald Trump. So, he would have offered better and bigger sales pitch than the real estate mogul.
Prior to the last election, the two seemed to get along. As you can see from the picture above, the two were sharing something rather amusing at the 2012 9/11 Memorial Ceremony. But as Trump’s name began to rise, the relationship started to wobble.
Well, it’s politic so nobody really knows how it all started or who started it at the first place. But it all became clear as Bloomberg endorsed Hillary Clinton, which of course opposes Trump. This was somewhat surprising because, as we discussed before, Bloomberg went through mayoral election as a Republican.
At the Democratic National Convention, Bloomberg gave a speech which basically asking America to elect a sane, competent person. And that got under Trump’s skin. Trump responded via Twitter, saying that Bloomberg’s last term as Mayor was a disaster and if he ran again for NYC Mayor, people would run him out of town.
