9Japan’s Record-Breaking Submarine

We continue our list with this submarine discovered in August 2013, underwater off the coast of Hawaii.

The I-400 class submarine was a Japanese submarine from World War II, and it could hold 3 seaplane bombers.

Measuring 122 meters, the submarine was the world’s largest submarine at the time, with a range of 37.500 miles.

Only 3 of this type were built, although the Japanese had plans for a fleet of 18 submarines.
And these 3 were used for carrying fuel to islands in the Pacific.
