7The SS Mahrattas
So, the Dornier 17 was discovered off the coast of Kent, on Goodwin Sands. Apparently, this area is no stranger to shipwrecks, as there are 1.000 recorded shipwrecks in the area.
And 2 of them are the SS Mahrattas.
The first one was launched in 1891, which sank, and the second SS Manhratta was launched in 1917 and ran aground in Goodwin Sands in 1939.
The irony here is that the same ships were on the same route from Calcutta to London.
