3. Empire on FOX ($500,000 per 30 seconds)
We are entering the top three most expensive ads spots in the world. And here we are with the most expensive one for TV series. FOX demands a half of million dollars for 30-second advertisement during their leading program, Empire.
This musical drama television series just started last year. And it has been a huge hit. Lucious Lyon, played by Terrence Howard, is a former drug dealer who turned into a hip hop mogul. He became the CEO of Empire Entertainment. Life was all great until his past sins come haunting back, including his ex-wife, Cookie.
Taraji P. Henson portrays this character. She acts so good to bring the character so alive that she won the Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in Television Series Drama.
Although the show’s rating is not that groundbreaking, it does not change the fact that FOX charges the third most expensive fee for 30-second ads aired during the program’s commercial break. Last season’s rating was around 6 million viewers on average.
