7. How to Get Away with Murder on ABC ($250,000 per 30 seconds)
Viola Davis won her historical Screen Actors Guild Award for her role as Annalise Keating in this show, How to Get Away with Murder. As it was first aired in 2014, 14 million people tuned into ABC. They were so drawn into the show’s fresh premise.
Keating is a law professor at Philadelphia University. The school is prestigious, and so is she. Then five of her students, who adore her highly, got entwined in a murder plot. Who wouldn’t watch that?
I gotta say, I thought it was going to be just a one-season program due to its plot. I mean, what could happen after you got away with murder or solved it? But apparently, the show’s high rating granted them more and more renewal. This year, they are on third season.
Unfortunately, there were only around five million people tuned in to watch the latest season’s premiere. That is a huge decline compared to the first season. Regardless, ABC still charges the amount of $250,000 per 30-second ads aired during the program’s time slot.
