#5 Pink-enamelled blue and white moonflask – $15.1 million

Just a little over the $15 Million mark we’ve got another vessel like item which seem to be the ones grabbing the big numbers at premium auctions!

This antique moonflask contains the Qianlong 6-character mark. The mark dates the moonflask to 1736 – 1795.

The item is 48.9 cm high, and has 2 phoenix and a flaming pearl, all in pink enamel.

The shape shows that the moonflask has a 15th century style. An identical object can be found at the Matsuoka Art Museum in Tokyo.

In 1987, the moonflask was sold at Sotheby’s in Hong Kong.
