7100.20-carat Diamond – Price: $22 million
At Sotheby’s auction in New York, a 100.20-carat diamond was sold.
The huge precious gem in a classic emerald cut was valued at $22 million.
The diamond was mined in Southern Africa within the past 10 years. Before it was cut and polished, the precious stone weighed over 200 carats, according to the auction house.
Sotheby’s NY jewelry department head Gary Schuler declared: ‘This 100.20-carat diamond is the definition of perfection. The color is whiter than white. It is free of any internal imperfections.‘
