Created in 2006, the oil on canvas painting was sold the following year at Sotheby’s Contemporary Art Evening Auction in London for $658.025.
The artwork has been taken from a 1776 portrait by the English painter Thomas Beach. Obviously, with a twist (a hand raising a middle finger in a rude gesture).
It’s a perfect mix between what art used to be back in the day and the attitude modern generations are bringing to the game!
