The designer is named Lorraine Schwartz. She is an American diamond and gold jewelry designer based in New York City.
Known for her exclusive designs that are sold only to private collections, Lorraine also designed the Bling Barbie.
Before designing the expensive Barbie doll people knew her through her showroom in Manhattan. Many celebrities have worn her works. Among them we recall Jennifer Lopez, Cate Blanchett, Hale Berry and Beyonce.
She teamed up with Mattel and the Council of Fashion Designers of America and came up with a design of a Barbie wearing a tiny black dress.
The collection included 12 one-of-a-kind Barbie Dolls dressed up by accessory designers from the Fashion Designers of America.
The main attraction of the collection was the diamond-encrusted doll from Schwartz. It featured a jewelry itself was valued at more than $25.000.
However, the winning bid for the doll was $7,500, making the winner a happy man.
