There was a time when the baseball cards were given as a prize at gums or cigarettes. Now those cards from back in the day are worth thousands and even millions.

The lucky people who still have the cards, are getting richer by selling them on enormous amounts of money.

That’s basically the new deal right now. So far, the priciest baseball card hasn’t changed, but that will be until a new one surfaces and the owner decides it’s time to sell.

 10. Eddie Plank -$188,000

On number ten is the Eddie Plank 1909-1911 baseball card. The baseball card is a very rare piece and its scarcity put in on our list with the most expensive baseball cards in the world.

Because its scarcity its price has grown and ended up at $188,000. Now, there are only a hundred of them that are known to exist in the world.

When it first came to the market, the baseball card was sold cheap or even for free and now is one of the most expensive cards.

Edward Stewart Plank is also known as “Gettysburg Eddie”, was an American professional baseball player.

He was a pitcher, who played in Major League Baseball for the Philadelphia Athletics from 1901 through 1914, the St. Louis Terriers in 1915, and the St. Louis Browns in 1916 and 1917.

He was one of the best, and when he died of a stroke in 1926 the price for the baseball card went up.
