The American baseball first baseman who played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees (1923–1939) is one of the most famous baseball players.
Gehrig was renowned for his prowess as a hitter and for his durability, a trait which earned him his nickname “The Iron Horse”.
Because of his work and his popularity, he got one of these expensive baseball cards.
The condition of the card sold at this price was superb and it is one of the few cards to get a PSA 10 grade. Such a good card in the perfect shape it does not come cheap.
