1. Frette Divine sheet set: about $4,300
Frette is an Italian linen house founded in 1860, and its Divine set is the priciest sheet set we could find with a published retail price. A recent product review listed it at about $4,300, which buys you the sort of bedding hotels put in their top suites.
The number rests on that review price, cross-checked against Frette’s other top lines. Sizes and stockists move it by a few hundred dollars either way.
2. Frette Ultimate Giza 45 sateen set: about $3,200
This one is built from Giza 45, a long-staple Egyptian cotton, woven into a 1,000 thread count sateen in Italy. Shoppers in the UK have seen it listed for far less, around the equivalent of $1,550, while a US listing put the set near $3,200.
We went with the higher US figure, since that is what an American buyer pays for the full set.
3. Charlotte Thomas Bespoke: £1,890 (about $2,400)
Gold in the sheets is the whole pitch. Each order weaves 22-carat gold into Merino wool, backs it with a silk jacquard and pairs it with 1,000 thread count Egyptian cotton. It is made to the client’s spec and takes around 12 weeks to arrive.
We built the figure from the UK price converted at roughly $1.27 to the pound.
4. Hästens limited-edition linens: over $2,000
Hästens, the Swedish bedmaker that started in 1852, is better known for mattresses that cost as much as a car. Its limited-run sheets get the same treatment, with materials like Sea Island cotton, vicuña wool and cashmere.
Standard Hästens sets sit well below this, from roughly $500 to $1,600. The $2,000 mark is a floor reported for the special editions, so treat it as a minimum.
5. D. Porthault Jours de Paris: about $1,900
A crisp white cotton percale with hemstitched edges, sold by the Paris house D. Porthault as sheets, pillow shams and duvet covers. It is the plain-looking option on this list, and the price comes from the hand finishing.
UK retail was about £1,500 in 2023, which converts to roughly $1,900 and matches the figure we carried forward.
6. Frette Hellas Seaweed Border: about $1,700
The ocean theme is stitched in: a seaweed border, sea anemone details and a cotton sateen weave, all made in Italy. Its UK price of £1,333 is where our dollar number comes from.
Fans of a sea-creature motif on their pillowcases finally have an expensive outlet.
7. Frette Granada sheet set: from $1,650
Frette lists the Granada set from $1,650, and that starting price is the figure we use. Larger sizes will cost more, which is why it appears as a floor.
It sits mid-table because Frette’s own lines above it climb well past $3,000.
8. Frette Doppio Ajour: $1,225
A 100% cotton sateen set with openwork-style hemstitching, priced at $1,225 in a retailer review of Frette’s range. Lower-end Frette sets, like its Hotel Classic percale at about $500, show how wide the brand’s ladder is.
We used the listed retail price for a full set and did not adjust it.
9. Millesimo by Sferra: about $1,150
Sferra puts a handcrafted letter in the box that vouches for the 1,020 thread count, which tells you what kind of customer it expects. The cotton is solid Egyptian, woven in Italy, and each set is made to order.
The UK price was £902 in 2023. That converts to roughly $1,150, down from the $1,395 we quoted in the original list.
10. Dreamsacks silk set: about $650
Sand-washed silk gives these sheets a matte finish on one side and a gloss on the other, with charmeuse trim at the hem. They are the only silk set on the list and the cheapest here.
The price follows the 2023 UK listing of £515, converted to dollars at the same rate as the rest.

What are the most expensive bed sheets in 2026?
Frette’s Divine set leads at about $4,300, followed by the Frette Ultimate Giza 45 sateen set at about $3,200 and the Charlotte Thomas Bespoke gold-woven sheets at around $2,400.
How much do the priciest sheets cost?
The top of our list costs about $4,300 for a full set. Even the tenth entry, the Dreamsacks silk set, lands near $650, well above ordinary cotton bedding.
Which sheets contain real gold?
Charlotte Thomas Bespoke sheets weave 22-carat gold into Merino wool. Each order is made to measure and takes about 12 weeks.
What changed from the old list?
The old number one, Charlotte Thomas, moved to third. Four Frette sets now rank, and the Sferra Palace Ivory, Capri Honey, Milos Seamist and the waterbed linens dropped off because their prices sit well below the new cut-off.
Has any set ever cost more?
A Sferra Burano lace set was reported in 2006 at around $15,000 for a king, though that was a limited release rather than a regular line.
Why are some sheets so expensive?
Long-staple cotton, higher thread counts, hand finishing such as hemstitching, and rare materials like silk, cashmere or gold all raise the price. Made-to-order production adds to it.
How we estimate net worth
Our estimates are based on public reporting, company valuations, and deal and earnings figures all compiled in an internal valuation model. They are approximate, and figures change over time as new information emerges.
For this list we leaned on published retail prices for full sets, converted UK prices at about $1.27 to the pound, and used the higher price where listings disagreed. Made-to-order and limited lines are flagged as floors rather than exact figures.
