31882 $500 Gold Certificate – $2.4 million
Some rare US banknotes were discovered in the back of a bankers drawer.
Dating back to the 1800s, these were considered worthless, but actually, they were valued 1700 times more than their original worth.
The collection actually costs $5.7 million and among them, there’s a rare $500 gold certificate from 1882, one of the very first banknotes printed in America.
