This coin is a star. No, literally. The coin was on TV show Hawaii Five-O. But it seems that didn’t increase its value at all.

Today, there are only five known authentic example of the 1913 Liberty Head nickel. Only five managed to somehow “escape” from the U.S. Mint.

Have I mentioned that the coin appeared in Hawaii Five-O TV show from the 1970s? You can see the episode 14 from season 6 if you don’t believe me.

The episode’s title is “The $100,000 Nickel” which aired in December 11, 1973.

The using of “$100,000” has a meaning. The coin was sold back then for $100,000.

Also, The Travel Channel featured the nickels in their “Mysteries at the Museum” series “Million-Dollar Nickel” episode.
