Most Expensive Collectibles

7)1787 Chateau Lafite: $160,000

The wine with the fancy name which derives from a wine state in France, it is priced at $160,000. Because of that it became one of the most expensive collectibles ever sold.

Owned by members of the Rothschild family since the 19th century the wine was awarded ‘first growth’ status Lafite and was one of four wines produced by Châteaux of Bordeaux.

Since then, they have made their name as the producers of the one of the most expensive red wines in the world.

As you may have guessed, this bottle is considered the most expensive bottle of wine in the world.

The bottle was bought by the third President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson in France.

Since then the bottle traveled all the way to London, where it was sold in 1985 for $160,000 as a collector’ item.

The best thing about it, is the initials of the President which can be seen right under “Lafite”.
