Claremont McKenna College, commonly known by its popular acronym CMC, is a private, coeducational liberal arts college that’s part of the Claremont Colleges in California.
It was first founded as a men’s college in 1946 by the name Claremont Men’s College and many of the students were war veterans that were trained in the fields of government, economics and international affairs. It later became coeducational and renamed in 1976.
