1.Hope Diamond – Price: $250 million
Not such a lucky charm after all.
The famous Hope Diamond is a true masterpiece as it is actually the second most visited artwork in the world. Only the “Mona Lisa” painting managed to come first.
The Hope Diamond weighing 45.52 karats was discovered in 1812 in an Indian mine and has been the property of Harry Winston, Pierre Cartier and Lord Francis Hope ever since.
In the end, it took the name of its last owner and now is displayed at the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History.
I strongly recommend to take some time and go visit this beautiful blue-gray stone, but beware as the rumors say this diamond carries a deadly curse.
