2. Detective Comics #27 ($2,230,000)
First edition of The Bat-Man (yes that was the name of Batman back then) was published in 1974 under DC Comics’ Famous Fist Edition line.
Collector or not, the value of this book is known by everyone. This one and the other one behind it had the biggest jump in value between any other comics and had an increase of around.
But originally the comic book had a stiff outer cover identifying it as a reprint. When the outer cover is removed, it is identical to the original book.
The cover of the comic book is made of paper instead of glossy and it says “collector’s edition” on the cover.
This particular comic book is 64 pages long instead of 32, and has 3 Batman stories instead of one.
