3. Aviva Insurance “Names” – $13.4 million
Big insurance companies have been known to spend big bucks to advertise and reach people. But do you expect one of them to spend $13.4 million for a single commercial?
In 2008, Norwich Union was in the process of re-branding itself as Aviva Insurance. So they released this ad to promote their new name. To do so, they decided to make it big.
How big? As big as the names of these celebrities: Bruce Willis, Elle Macpherson, Alice Cooper, and Ringo Star. These stars were chosen because they changed their names themselves which brought their career into where they are now.
As you can guess, most of the budget was used to cover the celebrities’ fee. Also, there are several CGI touches done to the scenes. Not bad for technology for 2008!
