6. The Lightning GT – $300,000
Lightning Car Company unveiled the Lightning GT in 2008, demanding $30,000 deposits from interested parties.
Doing 0-60 in a comfortable 4 seconds and packing a punch worth 700bhp, this car was Lightning’s first production and won Car of The Show at the ExCeL London Motor Show in 2008. Its carbon fibre body and quick-charging lithium batteries with will last for 150 miles on just one charge.
The Lightning GT was originally set to be available in 2012, but that’s been pushed to 2017. According to their website, which is currently under development, “the car development continues at a pace”.
