3. Rimac Concept One – $980,000
Croatian car manufacturer Rimac, a relatively new company, exclusively develops high-performance electric cars.
Rimac founder Mate Rimac called the Concept One “the sports car of the 21st Century”. The Concept One was hand-built, and Rimac himself started working on it when he was just 21, openly inspired by Nikola Tesla. The electric motor is much simpler than a traditional engine, its top speed is 190 miles per hour, and it does 0-60 in 2.8 seconds.
After three years of development, a version was shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016, but orders were being taken as far back as 2012.
