2. Mercedes Benz SLS Electric Gullwing E-Cell – $1 million
This luxury, limited edition Mercedes Benz was developed at AGM in Stuttgart and went on sale in 2012, making it one of the most expensive electric cars on the market.
The body of the SLS E-Cell is much the same as the body of the SLS AMG, but closer inspection reveals some small details. It’s weight distribution is 46:54 and apparently lowers the centre of gravity by 24mm compared to the non-electric version. Each corner has an individual motor, which are powered by lithium-ion batteries underneath the bonnet, behind the seats and under the middle of the floor plan.
For anyone with a lot of liquid cash, charging time is eight hours at 16 amps, so you might want to get two so there’s always one spare.
