7. The Tesla Model X – $140,000
Tesla, a brand synonymous with the most expensive electric cars and a market leader, made the Tesla Model X after the Model S, which was announced by Elon Musk in February 2012.
An crossover SUV, the Model X has falcon wings at the rear and seats 7 people. Faster than most SUVs, it goes from 0-60mph in 3.2 seconds. The release of the Model X was repeatedly pushed back and delayed, first predicted to be 2014. In 2015, it finally went on sale.
All of the units sold in 2016 were recalled by Tesla due to a safety fault concerning the third row of seats, so if you’ve already got one, about a third of your $140,000 car is useless.
