Most Expensive Elvis Presley Memorabilia

The most expensive piece of Elvis Presley memorabilia we can pin to a sale is the 1960 Omega watch RCA Records gave him, which sold for about $1.8 million at Phillips in Geneva in May 2018. This top 10 ranks the highest prices paid at auction for things Elvis owned, wore or played, as of October 2026. The 2018 watch has now held the record for more than eight years, with a Sun Sessions guitar and a Madison Square Garden jumpsuit close behind.

1. Omega watch from RCA: about $1.8 million

RCA Records gave Elvis this 18-carat white gold, diamond-set Omega to mark 75 million records sold. The case back is engraved “To Elvis, 75 Million Records, RCA Victor, 12-25-60.” He later swapped it with a fan for a diamond-set Hamilton.

Phillips estimated it at only about 50,000 to 100,000 Swiss francs. Bidders pushed it to roughly 18 times the top estimate, and the watch went to the Omega museum in Biel, Switzerland. It was also the highest price ever paid for an Omega at auction.

How we valued it: price as reported, premium included; the maker’s own announcement gives the same sale as CHF 1.5 million, so the dollar figure depends on the exchange rate and fees.

2. 1942 Martin D-18 guitar: $1.32 million

Elvis bought this guitar in Memphis in 1954, trading in an older Martin, and used it around the Sun Studio sessions that launched his career. He sold it in 1956.

It resurfaced at Christie’s London in 1993, where a collector paid about $151,700. Twenty-seven years later it sold for nearly nine times that, below a $2 million to $3 million estimate, to an unnamed buyer. It remains the most expensive Elvis instrument.

How we valued it: final price announced by the auction house after the online sale.

3. 1972 Madison Square Garden jumpsuit and cape: about $1 million

Elvis wore this white eyelet jumpsuit and cape at his 1972 Madison Square Garden shows. The two pieces were sold as separate lots. Reports put the jumpsuit at about $510,000 and the cape at about $300,000 in winning bids, which come to roughly $1.01 million once the premium is added.

It is the priciest Elvis stage costume on record. Before it, the best a jumpsuit had managed was $325,000.

How we valued it: combined total of both lots, premium included; we treat the figure as approximate because it comes from press coverage of the sale.

4. Hagstrom Viking II from the 68 Comeback Special: about $625,000

Elvis played this Swedish-made guitar in the sit-down segments of his 1968 television comeback. Pre-sale talk was $750,000 to $1 million, but bidding stopped at about $625,000 with premium after a handful of bidders.

One reference list shows a higher figure of $938,000 for the same lot. We use the lower figure because two separate reports agree on it, and flag the gap for readers who check.

How we valued it: figure including fees; one outlier source disagrees, so treat the number as approximate.

5. 24-carat gold leaf grand piano: about $600,000

Elvis bought this walnut Kimball in 1955 as a gift for his mother. Priscilla had it gold-leafed in 1968 for their first wedding anniversary. It had sat in a Nashville museum for years.

Hard Rock International reportedly bought it, as piece number 80,000 in its collection. At the time it was the biggest Elvis price ever paid at auction.

How we valued it: a price of about $600,000, with a second report at $610,000; the two likely differ by fees.

6. 1962 Lockheed Jetstar: about $430,000

Elvis owned this Lockheed Jetstar late in his life. It sold in 2017 and was reportedly resold for about $260,000 in 2023.

Older write-ups, including our earlier edition, quoted $600,000 for an earlier sale of the same jet. We could not confirm that, so we rank the 2017 figure.

How we valued it: 2017 auction result; the resale price is shown for context and is not ranked.

7. Gibson Dove guitar from Aloha from Hawaii: $334,000

Vernon Presley bought this guitar for his son in 1969. Elvis had it refinished in black after earning his karate black belt, and played it at the 1973 Aloha from Hawaii broadcast. He gave it to a fan at a 1975 concert in Asheville, North Carolina.

It made $334,000, just above its top estimate of $300,000.

How we valued it: figure including fees from the New York sale.

8. Aqua vine jumpsuit: $325,000

This turquoise jumpsuit with vine embroidery was worn on stage in 1973 and 1974. It set the stage-costume record at the time and held it until the 2021 Garden sale.

Elvis’s 1974 peacock jumpsuit had sold for $300,000 in 2008, so the record had moved only slightly in eight years.

How we valued it: sale price, which two separate reports of the Graceland sale agree on.

9. Ebony Dove guitar from Graceland: $270,000

This Gibson was a gift to a front-row fan at the 1975 Asheville concert. It was offered with a $300,000 to $500,000 estimate and fell short at $270,000.

It is a good reminder that provenance does not guarantee a premium. Two near-identical guitars sold within five months of each other, at quite different prices.

How we valued it: result of the January 2016 sale. Reports disagree on whether this is the same instrument as the Julien’s Dove, so we list them as separate lots.

10. Blue Armadillo stage suit: $250,000

A 1970s stage suit by costume designer Bill Belew, sold to a private collector at the sale marking 40 years since Elvis died.

The same weekend, a gold and diamond ram’s head necklace brought $138,750 and a guitar-shaped diamond ring $112,500. The sale as a whole passed $1.6 million.

How we valued it: figure published after the sale, premium included.

Records set in 2025 and 2026

We found no new record. The big prices are all from 2015 to 2021, and recent sales have been far smaller. In 2024 Elvis’s personal Bible reportedly sold for about $150,000. Most 2026 results we checked were modest: a contract signed by Elvis and his manager made about $19,500 in June 2026, and a gold TCB necklace failed to reach its estimate in a May 2026 online sale.

What drives these prices

  • Famous tie to a career moment. The three most expensive items connect to RCA, the Sun years and the Garden shows, the high points of the story.
  • Instruments beat clothes. A guitar is a physical object a collector can play or show. Costumes, by contrast, are fragile and have sold in great numbers.
  • Buyers are institutions as well as fans. Hard Rock and a watch museum have both paid top prices, which puts a floor under the market.
  • Documented provenance matters. Items with a clear chain from Elvis to a named fan or crew member sell for far more than items with only a story.
  • Supply is thin. Everything on this list was a one-off. When a lot is a mass-produced item with a famous owner, the price stays in four or five figures.
