This iconic symbol of Rome is the largest amphitheater in the world, with a capacity of 50.000-80.000 people.
Also known as the Flavian Amphitheater (referring to the Flavian Dynasty), the Colosseum is located in the centre of Rome, Italy.
Its construction began in 70 A.D. and was finished in 80 A.D. The Flavian Amphitheater has been used for several different events like executions, animal hunts, gladiator contests or even interpretations of mythological stories.
And although it features a damaged appearance, the Colosseum remains one of the main attractions in Rome, valued at $114 billion.
