Top 15 World’s Most Expensive Ferrari Cars Ever Sold

3. Ferrari 290 MM ($28,050,000)

As mentioned before, MM stands for Mille Miglia, a car racing competition. And as you can tell, this Ferrari 290 MM competed in and won it in 1956. The car also won other grand prix which lead into Ferrari’s overall victory in the 1956 World Sportscar Championship.

There were only four Ferrari 290 MM cars built. So far, there has been only one of them sold to public. And what is a better way to make your first impression to the motor auction world than to break the world-record sale?

When it hit the RM Sotheby’s auction in New York, United States last year, the 1965 car was sold for $28.05 million. And that is the 2015’s world-record for a car sale, not just for auction but also in general.

The Ferrari 290 MM is powered by a 4.5-L V12 engine. This engine was used in the Scuderia Ferrari’s Formula One cars. It is so powerful that it can produce maximum power of 320 HP at 7,200 rpm. And it can also bring the car as fast as 280 kmph.
