7. Ferrari 375-Plus Spider Competizione ($18,400,177)
Ferrari 375-Plus Spider Competizione is most commonly known as Ferrari 375 MM. The nickname came from the racing competition where this car took part in: Mille Miglia. This is indeed a race car. In fact, Ferrari 375 car series are some of the best they have manufactured for motoracing, including Formula 1 Grand Prix.
As for the “375” in its name refers to the per-cylinder displacement of the 4.5-L V12 engine. It was transformed into a 4.9-L V12 racer engine. Besides that, this one differs from the Ferrari 375 F1 by its smaller stroke and bigger bore.
Ferrari has never manufactured the road car version of this car. In fact, this 1954 car is so special that there are only five were made. And two years ago at Bonhams auction house in West Sussex, United Kingdom, one of them was sold at £12.1 million (or around $18.4 million).
Where are the other four? Another one also hit the Bonhams auction during the Goodwood Festival of Speed last year, but it did not break the 2014 record. It was sold for £10.7 million “only”.
