10. dMarc Broadcasting: $102 million

So, Google wanted to acquire an advertising company and eventually they did it. They thought the advertising company named dMarc Broadcasting will be a good fit.

It happened on January 17, 2006. It might seem to you like a good amount of money, but we are talking about Google here – nothing is too much.

The dMarc Broadcasting is an advertising company started by Chad Steelberg & Ryan Steelberg.

Google acquired the dMarc Broadcasting Company because they needed a broadcasting service when they turned to commercial radio.

And so, by purchasing the company, Google had their hands on the new way of advertising via the radio.

The acquisition cost Google $102 million.
