3. Boeing AH-64 Apache ($52 million)
Boeing AH-64 Apache is an American four-blade, twin-engine, multi-combat helicopter. According to Boeing, it is the most advance model of its class. Since 1983, more than 2,200 units of Apache have been produced and delivered worldwide. Multiply that number with $52 million price per unit. Initially made for U.S Army, Apache is used for various purposes by many countries.
This two-crew helicopter is classified as a mid-size helicopter. The two General Electric T700-GE-701C turboshaft engines generate 1,890 shp. They bring Apache flying up to 6,400 meters high with 736 meters per minute rate-of-climb. And it can go as far as 480 kilometers with 295 kph top speed.
Since Apache is a close-combat attack helicopter, it is equipped with 30 mm M230 chain gun carried between the main landing gear. In addition to that, four hardpoints are mounted on stub-wing pylons carrying AGM-114 Hellfire anti-tank missiles and Hydra 70 general-purpose unguided 70 mm rockets.
Apache is also equipped with various sensors and onboard avionics to provide the ability to operate at night or day, and during worst weather conditions.
