11. Sikorsky MH-60S Seahawk ($28 million)
Here is another one from Sikorsky. As arguably the leading aircraft manufacturer, it contributes to more than just one helicopter on our list.
This is the MH-60S Seahawk which is a United States and Australian multi-mission maritime helicopter. The designers made it from two preceding models by combining them. The result is this upgraded model with a bunch of features.
Even though Seahawk is not as popular as its brother, Black Hawk (thanks to Hollywood), this aircraft does have all sorts of military technology. From multi-mode radar, airborne sonar, airborne fleet data link to other sensors and devices mounted on the glass cockpit are available on this helicopter through its digital complex monitors. And you can get all of these with $28 million “only”.
Unlike most military aircraft, Seahawk can deploy aboard from any air-capable frigate, destroyer, cruiser, fast combat support ship, amphibious assault ship, or aircraft carrier. That is why since it first flew in 1979 to date, it is still in service.
