Most Expensive Items of Marilyn Monroe’s Memorabilia

#6- Saloon Girl Dress: $510,000

She wore the next item in the classic film “The River of No Return” from 1954. The green velour saloon girl dress was auctioned for $510,000.

Designed by the same talented Travilla, the dress was created in 1953 for Betty Grable, but it was given to Marilyn to wear in the musical number.

We remember that classic as one of her best movies, a film in which she amazed us with her performance and singing the “I’m Gonna File My Claim” song.

She had an important part in the movie where she played Kay Weston, a gambler’s wife.

Because she played the role of a gambler’s wife, she got to wear the low-back saloon dress with two high slits revealing a red tiered underskirt with ribbon and beaded trim on the shoulders.

The dress was sold to a private collector.
