The 3rd place in our most expensive jewelry brands list is Van Cleef and Arpels! The brand resulted from the collaboration of Estelle Arpels and Alfred Van Cleef and it was founded in 1896 in France.
Today, the house still stands for Old World elegance, but Van Cleef & jewelry is in a class of its own.
Van Cleef & Arpels designs pieces bearing birds, flowers, and animal motifs, inspired by nature’s beauty and liveliness.
Back in 2009, a 1936 Van Cleef & Arpels custom jewelry piece with a “Mystery Setting” was sold at Christie’s auction for $326,500 in New York.
