The most expensive junk food on record is Serendipity 3’s Frrrozen Haute Chocolate, a $25,000 sundae that Guinness recorded as the world’s most expensive dessert in 2007. Older reports put a gold, caviar and diamond chocolate pudding at $35,000. This list ranks ten of the priciest burgers, pizzas, hot dogs, sandwiches and desserts, using Guinness entries where possible, as of October 2026.
Many of these are publicity stunts or older records, so each entry says how solid the number is.

1. Faberge-egg chocolate pudding, Lindeth Howe: $35,000
A country house hotel in England sold a chocolate pudding made to look like a Faberge egg, with chocolate, gold and caviar, topped with champagne jelly, edible gold leaf and a two-carat diamond the diner could take home. It was reported at about $35,000, making it the priciest dessert in the old reports we reviewed.
It is a one-off from a hotel, not a menu item, and we have not seen a recent price. The diamond does most of the pricing.
Older press reports supply the figure and we could not confirm it with the hotel.
2. Frrrozen Haute Chocolate: $25,000
Guinness recorded it as the most expensive dessert when it joined the menu on 7 November 2007. It is a chocolate sundae with a blend of 28 cocoas, 14 of them among the most expensive in the world, and 5 grams of 23-carat edible gold. The goblet is lined with gold and stands on an 18-carat gold bracelet set with a carat of diamonds. The gold spoon, studded with diamonds, is yours to keep. It was made with the jeweller Euphoria New York.

3. FleurBurger, Fleur, Las Vegas: $5,000
Chef Hubert Keller served a burger of Wagyu beef, foie gras and shaved black truffles on a brioche truffle bun, with a bottle of 1995 Chateau Petrus on the side. The price was reported at $5,000, and the wine is where most of it went. We could not confirm it is still on the menu.
Older reports of the menu price are the only basis here.
4. 777 lb burger, Juicys Outlaw Grill, Oregon: $5,000
The Guinness record entry for this burger is a 352 kilogram (777 pound) hamburger, priced at $5,000, served at Juicys Outlaw Grill in Corvallis, Oregon, on 2 July 2011. Per pound it is the cheapest item here, and it is the biggest by far.
The Guinness entry for the burger supplies the number.
5. Pizza Royale 007: $4,200
Scottish-Italian pizza maker Domenico Crolla built a 12-inch pizza topped with caviar soaked in Dom Perignon champagne, lobster marinated in cognac, smoked salmon, venison medallions, vintage balsamic and prosciutto, finished with 24-carat gold flakes. He sold it on eBay to raise money for the Fred Hollows Foundation.
We rely on older reports of the eBay sale price.
6. Industry Kitchen pizza, New York: $2,700
Guinness lists it as the most expensive commercially available pizza at $2,700 as of 24 April 2017. The dough is black, made with squid ink. The toppings are white Stilton from England, foie gras and truffles from France, two kinds of caviar (Ossetra from the Caspian and Almas) and 24-carat gold leaf.
This is the Guinness listing as of April 2017, so check the menu before you book.
7. Golden Opulence Sundae: $1,000
Introduced for the restaurant’s 50th anniversary in 2004, and Guinness named it the most expensive dessert in November 2007. It has Tahitian vanilla ice cream, 23-carat gold leaf, Amedei Porcelana chocolate and a dessert caviar of candied fruit. Order two days ahead.

8. Le Burger Extravagant: $295
Guinness recognised it as the world’s most expensive hamburger in May 2012. It is the cheapest of the three Serendipity 3 records on this list, and the most plausible to order. We could not retrieve the ingredient list from the sources we opened.
The amount quoted in the 2012 record is the basis.
9. Quintessential Grilled Cheese: $214
The Guinness record for the most expensive sandwich, from 29 October 2014. The bread is made with Dom Perignon champagne and edible gold flakes, spread with white truffle butter and stuffed with Caciocavallo Podolico cheese. It comes with a South African lobster tomato bisque for dipping.

10. Juuni Ban hot dog, Tokyo Dog, Seattle: $169
A brioche-bun hot dog with a smoked cheese bratwurst, teriyaki onions, maitake mushrooms, Wagyu beef, foie gras, black truffle, caviar and Japanese mayonnaise. Guinness recorded it on 23 February 2014 in Seattle. It displaced the $145.49 California Capitol City Dawg from Sacramento, certified in May 2012.

Records set in 2025 and 2026
We found no new Guinness record or price announced in 2025 or 2026 for these items. The records that exist come from 2004 to 2017, and menu prices may have changed.
What drives these prices
- Gold, caviar, truffle and a diamond. The ingredients, not the cooking, create the price. The same burger without the Petrus costs a fraction.
- Records as marketing. Serendipity 3 holds three Guinness entries on this list, and a record is cheaper than an advertisement.
- Charity tie-ins. Pizza Royale 007 was sold to raise money for charity.
- Order-ahead scarcity. Items that need two days’ notice feel like events.
- Size. The 777 pound burger is simply a lot of meat.
