The priciest piece with a published price tag is Guerlain’s KissKiss Gold and Diamonds at about $62,000, and the dearest lipstick you can buy off the shelf in 2026 sits in the low hundreds. This list ranks them as of October 2026.
The old version of this list topped out at $62. Luxury beauty has moved since: Louis Vuitton entered the category at $160 in August 2025, and refillable cases have become the new status symbol.

1. H Couture Beauty Diamond lipstick: $14,000,000
The headline lipstick comes in a solid 18-carat gold case studded with blue and pink diamonds, reportedly sold as part of a duo with mascara and made for a client. It is a custom piece rather than a shelf product, and the brand’s own site appears to have gone quiet, so we could not confirm a sale or a date.
Reported price for a made-to-order set. Treat it as a headline figure, not a market price.
2. Guerlain KissKiss Gold and Diamonds: $62,000
Guerlain’s jewel case holds about 110 grams of 18-carat gold with diamonds set in it, a black wooden box, a suede pouch and a lip brush. Reports differ on the diamond count, so we leave it out. It was not sold through ordinary online checkout.
Widely quoted price for the boxed piece, repeated across several reports.
3. Bond No. 9 refillable lipstick with Swarovski crystals: $400
A refillable case set with ruby-coloured Swarovski crystals, offered in six shades. This is the first entry you can plausibly buy and use daily.
We used the retail price we saw at about $400.
4. Guerlain Rouge G Lucky Bee: $290
A limited Rouge G case with a rhinestone bee on a double-mirrored shell, with diamond powder and silver micro-crystals in the formula. The standard Rouge G lipstick sells from about $87 at the brand’s US site, so the premium is for the case.

5. Valde Beauty Soar Collection lipstick: $199
A reusable gold-toned case holding a creamy satin lipstick with hyaluronic acid. It shows how a plain lipstick reaches three figures when the packaging does the talking.
Price comes from the brand’s own retail listing.
6. La Bouche Rouge Passion refill with leather case: $164
A plastic-free leather case with a refillable lipstick, and engraving for an extra $15. The pitch is craft and refills.
The figure is the retailer’s price for this edition.
7. Louis Vuitton LV Rouge Complete lipstick: $160
Louis Vuitton’s first beauty collection arrived on Aug. 25, 2025, with Pat McGrath as creative director. Its lipstick comes in 55 shades at $160, with refills from about $69. Some observers called the price steep next to Hermes at about $80 to $86, which is the point: LV is testing how far a luxury name can push a lip product.

8. Bond No. 9 lipstick: $105
A gold-tone case lipstick from the perfume house, not solid gold. A step down from the crystal version but still twice the price of a department-store staple.

9. Christian Louboutin Rouge Louboutin Velvet Matte: $90
A solid metal case with a matte formula carrying hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5. It is the brand that made a red sole famous, now selling the colour on a lip.
We saw it listed at about $90.
10. Hermes Rouge Hermes satin lipstick: $86
A refillable lipstick in a polished, lacquered metal case, supplied in a canvas pouch. Refills start at about $56, so a second shade costs less than the first. Hermes is the benchmark the others get compared to.
Hermes lists it at $86 in the US, as do two retailers.
What changed in 2025 and 2026
The big change is Louis Vuitton. Its La Beaute line launched on Aug. 25, 2025 with lipsticks at $160, about double Hermes. Elsewhere, brands lean on refillable systems: Guerlain’s Rouge G starts at about $87 and sells cases separately from about $43, and Chanel’s Rouge Allure lists at about $53 in the US. We found no verified 2026 sale of a gem-set lipstick above the 2020s figures here.
What drives these prices
- Packaging is the product. Gold, crystals, leather and mirrors cost far more than pigment.
- Refills lower the second purchase. The first price buys the object, later shades cost about a third less.
- Scarcity can be invented. Limited editions and made-to-order sets let a brand set almost any number.
- Brand is the margin. Houses known for bags or shoes can charge more for the same wax.
