5Bruce Nauman
Born on December 6, 1941, the American artist Bruce Nauman managed to sell his artwork ‘Henry Moore Bound to Fail’ at the 2001 Christie’s auction event for $9.9 million.
The plaster and wax sculpture was created in 1967, from a photo of Bruce Nauman’s back with his arms tied behind his back.
Several other of his masterpieces went to auction. The ‘Violins violence silence’ (1987) was sold in 2009 for $4 million.
