4.P-8A Poseidon: $290 million
Designed to replace the P-3C Orion, the P-8A Poseidon is a long-range anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft.
The number four of the most expensive military aircraft is able to provide combat capability from a smaller force and less infrastructure while focusing on worldwide responsiveness and interoperability.
With a length of 129.5 feet (39.47 meters) and a height of 42.1 feet (12.83 meters), the P-8A was designed to secure the Navy’s future in long-range maritime patrol capability.
